Inside the numbers: The Pundit seeks insight into this Eagles’ season

Combined Record of teams in Eagles’ Wins: 57-63
Combined Record of Teams in Eagles’ Losses: 55-34
Combined Record of Teams in Eagles’ Ties: 3-11-1
Analysis: Well, for the most part, the Eagles win the games they are supposed to. With the exception, of course, of the horrid tie against the Bengals. Because that was sickening.

After the tumultous season the Eagles have had, they’re the sanest team in the NFC East? Actually, yeah…

Wait, that can’t be right. I mean, first, we had the controversy with Lito Sheppard. And all of the talk about how we couldn’t stop anybody’s running game and how Donovan couldn’t win the close ones. And then we tied the friggin’ Bengals, and Donovan admitted he didn’t know how the overtime system worked. Than, [...]

Sometimes, a team just has to hit rock-bottom: The Pundit evaluates the win over the Giants, and why it happened

At some point in your life, you’ve probably known a rock-bottom person. Maybe a friend, or family member, coworker, acquaintance, etc. (Editor’s note: For me, it’s The Pundit. He’s a carousal of emotion). Essentially, a rock-bottom person is someone who absolutely won’t change their life, however bad it may be getting, until it gets to [...]

Coming down the stretch, part two: AFC predictions

By Rant (With blurbs from The Pundit)
Tennessee Titans  (11-1)
This team, like the New York Giants, isn’t flashy, yet they get the job done and are solid from top to bottom. They are a force to be reckoned with, and what’s more is that the Titans have been in this position before with head coach Jeff [...]

Coming down the stretch: NFL predictions for the final quarter of the season and the Playoffs

Rant (with a few blurbs from The Pundit)
At one of the Packers’ recent press conferences, head coach Mike McCarthy made a statement about the Packers dropping games, noting, “It’s November, we need to be winning football games.”  I thought, damn straight man, the playoff picture is starting to take shape. Here’s some insight on how [...]

The Pundit List presents: Things to be thankful for

It’s been a while since I’ve done a Pundit List, so it seemed like time. I decided to list the things I was thankful for both in the spirit of the holiday and because I’ve been so negative about the Eagles lately. My thanks will be primarily directed toward the sporting world, but I will undoubtably stray from time [...]

I love you, I love you not…The Pundit debates the future of Andy Reid

93-59, a .620 winning percentage (Regular Season)
8-6 (Playoffs)
1-3 (Conference Championship game)
0-1 (Super Bowl)
6 Playoff appearances in 9 full seasons
5 Division Championships in 9 full seasons
If you haven’t already guessed, these are the numbers compiled by Andy Reid since he became the Eagles head coach in 1999. Pretty impressive. And yet, there are many people in this town calling for his head. Let’s [...]

More Eagles thoughts and NFL notes

Rant Jacobs
I keep watching the Eagles this season, though I’m not sure why; all they do is anger me.  I have one word that comes to mind when I think of their season thus far: bleh. They come out dull and bland, then they show some promise.  I think I learned how to handle situations like [...]

The Pundit’s game notes from one of the worst Eagles games ever

From the Editor: The Pundit is so enraged right now by the effort displayed by the Eagles offense in their 13-13 tie, he only submitted his unedited notes from the game and said, “Here – you deal with this.” Thanks, Pundit. Here are his slightly edited notes, just in case you felt like reliving the [...]

Are the Birds cooked? This Pundit isn’t convinced…

The radio hosts and their faithful lackeys will tell you that Andy Reid is washed up as a coach, that his scheme is outdated and his player personnel decisions are shaky, at best. He shouldn’t have been given the duel responsibility, and the harmful effects of that decision are rearing their ugly head this season.
Maybe [...]
